A tragic incident unfolded in Adamawa State as Sadiq Idrissu confessed to the murder of his mother, alleging witchcraft as his motive.
The 30-year-old, now in custody of the Adamawa State Police Command, explained that upon his belief about his mother’s alleged witchcraft, he felt pity for his father who lived with her.
Reportedly, on the 5th of this month, Sadiq, residing in Boga, Gombi Local Government Area, fatally shot his mother.
His admission to the police lacked remorse as he expressed sympathy for his father’s years with her.
Claiming his mother appeared to him as a witch and attributing his fears and sleepless nights to her, Sadiq recounted an incident where, suspecting her of witchcraft, he shot her twice after encountering her outside their home at midnight.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer confirmed Sadiq’s arrest, stating the investigation is underway.
